Vision & Mission

Vision

Engaging, Educating, and Empowering Every Learner

Mission

In partnership with families and our community, Winters JUSD provides equitable, inclusive and personalized learning experiences where all students gain the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in, and contribute to, an evolving and complex world.

Equity

In the Winters Joint Unified School District, we are committed to equity through empowering each learner with access to the tools they need to have academic, emotional, and social success.

Our equity work includes:

  • Purposely disrupting and dismantling barriers for all learners while relentlessly addressing their linguistic, racial, social economic, identity and cultural needs
  • Proactively identifying the different assets and needs of each individual
  • Personalization of support and enrichment for learner and families through collective development
  • Monitoring learners' progress on their journey to success
District Priorities

Create Safe, Welcoming, and Inclusive Environments

  • Districtwide commitment to inclusivity to ensure all students feel safe, seen, and respected; amplify student voice to guide our work; include community partners to create a shared goal of student well-being. Students will be provided tools and opportunities to self-advocate to address their needs and engage in their learning.

Amplify Student Engagement, Learning, and Growth

  • Examine student engagement across all grade spans to identify and implement strategies to connect students to school, the Graduate Profile, and their learning journey.
  • Sustain and enhance access to college and career readiness opportunities (Career Technical Education pathways, apprenticeships/internships, AVID, A-G completion, and Dual Enrollment)

Ensure Supports for Academic Success and Graduate Profile Outcomes

  • Districtwide effort to create a vision and identify strategies to model, teach, nurture and recognize the competencies of the Graduate Profile.
  • Enhance fidelity, consistency, and structure among Professional Learning Communities (PLC) to promote learning focused collaboration and improved student achievement (MTSS/COST, essential standards, etc.)

Identify/Implement Operational Efficiencies

  • Ensure long-term operational viability and sustainability through strategic staffing, facilities modernization, efficient operations, and multi-year fiscal planning aligned with student and community needs.
