We know that good nutrition and learning go hand in hand.
The School Nutrition Department provides meals under the National School Breakfast, National School Lunch, and Summer Food Service Programs.
The Food Services Department offers all meals at no charge to all students regardless of income levels, a policy change that reduces burdens for both families and school administrators and helps ensure that all students receive nutritious meals. This practice further supports the district’s efforts to eliminate all barriers to student learning, and helps ensure students are not hungry at school while they are trying to learn. The change is the result of the district implementing the Community Eligibility Provision, an option available to schools under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program. Meal applications are no longer required.
It is our goal to provide appealing, healthy and nutritious meals to our students to ensure they can meet the highest academic standards.
We proudly serve nutritious breakfast and lunch meals every school day. Our school meals meet all federal standards and requirements of the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program which are based on theUSDADietary Guidelines. School meals offer students milk, fruits, vegetables, proteins and grains. We meet all the current standards which include age appropriate calories, strict limits on fat and sodium, whole grains, larger servings and varieties of fruits and vegetables and we purchase local whenever possible.
