About the Board
The Winters Joint Unified School District Board of Education is comprised of five elected members.
Board Meetings
Board of Trustee Meetings are held on the first and third Thursday of each month beginning at 6:00 p.m. Meetings are held at the District Office, 909 W. Grant Avenue, in the Walnut Room. These meetings are open to the public, and community members are welcomed and encouraged to attend. Individuals may address the Board on items on the agenda or non-agenda items during time for Public Comment. Individuals are asked to complete a Request to Speak Form; however, this is not required.
District Priorities
Create Safe, Welcoming, and Inclusive Environments
- Districtwide commitment to inclusivity to ensure all students feel safe, seen, and respected; amplify student voice to guide our work; include community partners to create a shared goal of student well-being. Students will be provided tools and opportunities to self-advocate to address their needs and engage in their learning.
Amplify Student Engagement, Learning, and Growth
- Examine student engagement across all grade spans to identify and implement strategies to connect students to school, the Graduate Profile, and their learning journey.
- Sustain and enhance access to college and career readiness opportunities (Career Technical Education pathways, apprenticeships/internships, AVID, A-G completion, and Dual Enrollment)
Ensure Supports for Academic Success and Graduate Profile Outcomes
- Districtwide effort to create a vision and identify strategies to model, teach, nurture and recognize the competencies of the Graduate Profile.
- Enhance fidelity, consistency, and structure among Professional Learning Communities (PLC) to promote learning focused collaboration and improved student achievement (MTSS/COST, essential standards, etc.)
Identify/Implement Operational Efficiencies
- Ensure long-term operational viability and sustainability through strategic staffing, facilities modernization, efficient operations, and multi-year fiscal planning aligned with student and community needs.
