I wanted to become a professional basketball player, but I was too short, too slow, and couldn't jump that high. The moment I graduated high school I left L.A. and never went back. I moved to Northern California and went to college at UC Berkeley. I've been involved in education for the past twenty-five years, though this is only my fourth year as a public school teacher. In the summers I write fiction. I have published two children's and two adult books. I commute to Winters from Davis on my bike. I figure I have close to 40,000 miles on my commuting bike.
