The SRIS library is up and running! Students have been visiting the library weekly with their classes since the last week in August. Enthusiasm and excitement for the new library and its grand collection has been high. Each week the librarian presents a featured book from the new collection. The library houses over 900 new titles along with books transferred from Waggoner School. Students have plenty of books to choose from, and plenty of shelf space for new books still exists. Parents and Families may participate in the "Donate a Book on Your Birthday" program. Students and parents are encouraged to donate a book to the library or classroom on a student's birthday. Donated books will have a special bookplate with the student's name and birthday. Each month the Winters Express will feature a birthday photograph of all SRIS students whose birthdays are in that particular month. We hope that the community will help promote this program at our school.
