The City of Winters, founded in 1875 and incorporated in 1898, is a community in southwestern Yolo County. The city's current population is over 5,500 with an additional 3,000 residing in the surrounding rural area. Winters is bounded on the west by Lake Berryessa and the Blue Ridge Coastal Range. Directly to the east lies Freeway 505, with direct access and quick connections to both Interstates 5 and 80.

Winters is a growing community surrounded by prime agriculture land featuring walnut and almond orchards, tomato fields and vineyards. Putah Creek flows along the southern border of the community and is a gateway to recreational areas featuring lakes and parks for swimming, boating, fishing, picnicking and hiking.

Winters is within 15 minutes of the City of Davis, University of California - Davis, home of the new Robert Mondavi Center. Thirty minutes to the east is California's capitol city of Sacramento. Lake Tahoe is a 2 ½ hour drive to the east, while San Francisco and the Napa Valley are a 45 minute to 1 ½ hour drive to the west.

Residents are attracted to Winters because of its friendly, small town atmosphere, yet accessibility to cultural events and outdoor activities.
